[DARK INDIETRONICA] Wildcat! Wildcat!- Circuit Breaker

And I came to you for comfort, but you’re just a terrorist wrapped in a romantic’s scarves. My heart:  it’d been beaten into a fine, ground powder of yearning glances, naivete, and tainted nights of big spoon/little spoon fights.  And you packaged it up, you caressed the tender edges and plugged up the holes with a salve of sweet somethings that quickly shifted into sweet nothings. You pushed down my anxieties with your words until they became a swirling mass ready to explode, teling me to just trust in the mission of our love. And then I walked into our house one day and saw you on the floor on with the detonator.

Boom.
Did you have to use my heart for your jihad?

Did you have to wage a crusade against me? Was I just a pawn in your holy war against the optimisitc? I’m no angel by any means, and I’ve done my share of fucked up things.  But I’d never attach a powder keg heart to the ‘circuit breaker’ of my mind,  landing them dependent on healing by the jolts of life I give them.  But I’ve never salivated at the TNT style emotions contained within someone else either. Sparks flew between us, but it was safe because I’ve danced around the flames a few times, been burned more than I could count. It’d take more than a match to light me up. But I was attached to you, I was connected to the current of our love, and you knew how to blow me to pieces. So, I took my heart and ran.

I was easy to recruit, I know. Because like the protagonists on my most of Wildcat! Wildcat!’s new record No Moon At All, and especially on ‘Circuit Breaker’, I may look at the world with a dispassionate glare, but my insides tremble at even the prospect of a traitor’s touch.  ‘Circuit Breaker’  continues the band’s (and the many that connect to their message) electric exploration of getting back up when you’re parts of scattered smithereens, for those that keep breaking down’, but who never lose a sense of who they are inside. And they can use that to hold onto, to fill their lungs with the voice to keep on saying when others would have long given up ‘Is there anyone out there?’
