2014’s been choice thus far in soundtracking my time in the wilderness.  Not actual wilderness;because fuck nature, fuck yo tree, and  fuck  yo mountain.  If I wanted to troll around a place where something might eat me, I’d go ’round the stomping grounds in my mind.   And biting and bashing my brain–itself– it’s been doing. It’s just so nasty: questioning goddamn everything about myself.  It growls at me. It took a bite out of my frontal lobe and left me without the ability to speak.

But the music still told the tales. This playlist preferences aesthetic and theme and while every song sits within my view of the year’s top echelon of good music, it’s by no means an exhaustive list. We didn’t even get into Big Boi, CEO, Germany Germany, Trust, and buckets more.

‘Ghost Heart Goes Alone’ is for those moments of pulling back, of painting the town in blood by yourself. It’s about realizing your heart is a little awry, a bit sleight and too prone to disappearing to try and smash others with its friendship; or, fuck, love.  It’s about peering out beyond your eyelids and being honest about the light and dark you see.
