Released as a joint collab between No Tomorrow and Vicious Recordings on September 5th is the new EP from Australian producer Trumpdisco. Titled Third Pt.1, this three-track release is the perfect introduction to this innovative artist for those who aren’t already familiar, with each track highlighting his ease at creating textured pieces of electronic music.

Prior to this release, Trumpdisco was originally a duo, crafting remixes for the likes of Don Diablo, Designer Drugs and Diplo and offering unique bootlegs for artists such as James Blake and Kanye West. So what sets ‘Third’ apart from other collections of dance music? Well, there is a curiousness behind each track, as if Trumpdisco has explored every pocket of sound carefully. Take ‘Ill Still’ for example, with is the darkest of the bunch with ruff shards of bass and hints of vocals flitting in and out. Then comes ‘High Silence’ which is led by a dominant rhythm and blistering melody. The most accessible of the trio is probably ‘Outworld’, which has a toe-tapping beat and infectious scratches moving it forward.

This EP is brave and interesting, with plenty of samples of original sound – Trumpdisco will be staying firmly on the radar.
