Garage-Rocker King Khan Of King Khan & The BBQ Show Goes Solo For Upcoming Album, Shares New Heavy Hitting Tune
King Khan— previously of King Khan & The Shrines and then King Khan & BBQ Show— is one of music’s most provocatively presented figures. A frequent wearer of the nipple-less top,
Arish Ahmad Khan, known better by his stage name King Khan, is also one of garage rock’s most eccentric figures. Most times Khan can be seen shirtless in tight black underwear accompanied by a donkey-teeth necklace and a warrior helmet. Although recently telling Uptown Magazine in an interview, “When you’re in your 20s, you can get away with urinating on the public. When you’re in your 30s and you’re a dad (Khan has two daughters, 6 and 9), it’s just gross. We rely on the audience for the crazy antics now,” it seems he’s willing to tone things down a bit. Leading the way for his two group’s over the years and making a name for himself in the industry as an exotic figure, it makes sense the artist has now announced he’s embarking on his first ever solo album.
The upcoming record, titled Murder Burgers, was recorded in Oakland with producer Greg Ashley and his old band the Gris Gris, and already has a rip-roaring lead single “It’s A Lie” leading the way.
Murder Burgers is out October 13 via Khannibalism/Ernest Jenning Record Co.
