It’s no secret that James Franco is a man of many talents. So I suppose it doesn’t surprise me to see he has dipped his toe into the realm of music with his first single “Love In The Old Days.” The track has a Motown inspired sound to it, especially with James’ spoken word vocals layered on top. And the lyrics can be traced back to his days at Warren Wilson College, where he earned a Masters in Poetry. “Love In The Old Days” will be the lead single on MotorCity, the debut EP from James’ new band, Daddy, Franco’s collaboration with musician Tim O’Keefe. Check out the official music video for the track below.
“I’ll tell you this: it’s always weird to talk about a new thing,” James Franco says, stopping a previous train of thought in its tracks. “I know I do a lot of things. I’m very aware of that. I’m sure there are a lot of skeptical people, hearing about me doing music . . . To me, it all comes from a similar place. It’s like using different tools to express things in different ways.”
