[CHILL/HIP-HOP] Nā Palm - "Ghosts" (Imaginarium EP Preview)

After spending some time away from the crowded night life scene and party industry that rages around Chicago, Nā Palm has returned with the first single off his much anticipated Imaginarium EP. “Ghosts” shows a more versatile, deeper side of the MC than we’ve seen in the past – a sign that the self-imposed hibernation has been paying off mentally. Produced by London based Catching Flies, the single samples from Mt. Wolf‘s “Life Size Ghosts” and is one of my favorite tracks released by the windy city MC thus far. “Ghosts” carries with it a frailty that speaks to the inspiration for the single, which you can read about below. Indie and hip-hop blend fantastically in this release and I look forward to hearing more from the upcoming Imaginarium EP.

“Ghosts is a metaphor about writing in solitude. I used that in stating that I spent a lot of time alone writing during this EP the last several months. I made a choice to alienate myself from the past party atmosphere I was constantly surrounded in, and really took a look inside myself at what changes needed to happen in my life in order to reach my goals and how I want to be remembered as an artist. It’s one of the most personal songs on the project and I wanted to show fans a vulnerable side they haven’t seen much yet.” -Nā Palm
