[ELECTRO/DISCO] Walter Sobcek ft. Mereki - "Midnight Crush"

Paris-based DJ/Producer Walter Sobcek is back at it with quite possibly one of the catchiest songs I’ve heard so far this summer. The hook alone could just start it’s own party and not invite the rest of the song, but that would be rude. With a solid intro, it doesn’t waste any time jumping into a classic disco beat, providing busy bass lines, soulful saxophone licks, and ever-evolving synth tones. Oh, and I can’t forget the funky guitar solos. Always a must have!

Featuring one of the most adored and sought-after female vocalists of our generation, Mereki, this song is the whole package. You might recognize her incredibly bright and smooth vocals from her tracks with Goldroom, as well as her own solo cuts like “Blue Lake.” I’ve seen her perform a couple times in LA with Goldroom, and she knows how to get the crowd hyped up and involved. Pairing up with Sobcek here is a win-win. As the song reaches its peak, she exclaims “There’s no love, at all!” and then the sax comes in, working together in a way that cuts deep into your soul. Releasing this as an EP – including the single plus remixes from Synapson, Oxford, Mattanoll, and CatCat – Sobcek set this one up the right way. Now it’s up to you to set your life up right and listen to this fresh jam as much as humanely possible, or at least switch it up with the fantastic remixes a little bit.
