In recent years, Irish electronic producer trio Phraktal, composed of Cristian Boshell, John O’Dwyer, and Brian Cody, has received critical acclaim for their distinct and memorable sound. Seamlessly combining genres such as sci-fi inspired electronica, ambient soundscapes, deep house, and melodic techno, the trio has found its way into the Beatport Top 50 on multiple occasions, supported the likes of Eats Everything, and gained recognition from artists such as Danny Tenaglia and Nick Warren. Phraktal recently recreated electronic demigods Orbital’s esteemed 1990 hit “Chime.” Taking listeners on a nostalgic, dark, and hypnotizing seven-minute journey, the trio combines classic and future sounds, conjuring up the image of a 1990s warehouse rave. Utilizing percussive timbale drums, looped arpeggiated synths, and atmospheric fx, Phraktal builds the track with warmth and direction as the familiar melodic hook takes hold. The track evolves with a driving yet lush, hypnotic deepness that is challenging to resist.
