Black and blue. When you hear the phrase, images of bruised eyes and healing wounds tend to come to mind. But allow me to place the term into a new context for you: The Black Keys‘ brand new single “Turn Blue”. Ok, maybe I’m reaching on that one, but Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney’s 2nd single for their upcoming new album of the same name is truly a slow-burning piece of psychedelia bliss.
Co-produced with Danger Mouse (who is also working on U2’s new album), Turn Blue will be The Black Keys’ eighth record and is expected to drop on May 13th. The title track was unveiled via Carney’s SiriusXM show, “Serious Boredom”, and immediately caught the attention of fans everywhere with it’s chunky bass and guitar-driven, 60’s inspired psyche rock vibes. “Turn Blue” follows the direction laid by the album’s first single “Fever”, and we couldn’t be happier to hear more new jams from the group. Enjoy the vibes below.
