Chemistry. That long lost subject from high school that you either got or, well, didn’t. The sometimes not-so-subtle reactions that micrograms of compounds could produce when mixed in the right combinations that leave you in awe, wanting them to mix again and again just to witness the final product. Take musical compounds Kill Paris and Alma, for example. Two artists who sparked a reaction the first time they collaborated together on the melodic single, “Avalanches.” Now the pair have teamed up again to release a slow burning electronic track titled “Ashes To Ashes” that combines Alma’s soaring lyrics over KP’s corrosive bass lines. Akin to balancing chemical equations, Alma’s female vocals play well with the melodic lows, resulting in a production that might not get you a better grade in chem class, but will leave you wanting more from the covalent artists.
