FKA Twigs proves that she is a multi-talented artist in new promotional short film “Welcome Home”.
Made for the Apple HomePod, the trippy video was directed by Spike Jonze.
The video also introduces Anderson .Paak‘s new single “Til It’s Over” when the Tahliah Debrett Barnett (aka FKA Twigs) asks Siri, through the Homepod, to play her something she’d like.
Siri was certainly spot on with this request. The British singer/songwriter/dancer is seen dozing off into another dimension of her own apartment after a long, dreary day of work when the song suddenly brings her to life. Along to the upbeat, yet delicate beats and .Paak’s soothing vocals, FKA Twigs dances through her apartment, and as she moves her body artistically to every sound and wobble, the apartment along with its every color extends until she finds herself dancing with her reflection in a space full of color and white lights.
When watching the creative short film, you won’t find it difficult to become completely mesmerized by the relationship FKA Twigs body has with the music, and how every movement of her body is met with color. Spike Jonze, who has a history of directing a long list of music videos with artists such as Kanye West and Björk, did not fail to harmonize the arts of film, music, and dance all together in this video.
For Apple, it’s a remarkably visual way to show how music can transform both your physical space and your mental one.
