Oliver To Release Debut Full Length Album In August, Releases Single With De La Soul
The House Music Duo Is Slated To Explode In 2017
After nearly seven years of careful plotting and testing the fluid waters of experimental production, Oliver is almost ready to take the dance music world by storm.
In an interview with Magnetic Mag, Vaughn from Oliver said “We wanted to do one for a long time. It just seemed like a bucket list thing for us. It just seemed like a fun thing to do, to be able to try a bunch of different stuff. Rather than just putting out one or two songs, we were able to do a lot of things that we would only be able to do on an album format.”
The duo recently released a single with De La Soul titled “Heart Attack,” which features seductive female backing vocals, multiple verses from De La Soul, and the type of robot vocal samples that were popularized by groups Daft Punk and Kraftwerk. The track echoes 70s nostalgia but is polished like a dance track from the future.

“There’s this idea in electronic music that things move so fast,” Goldstein said in an interview with Billboard Magazine. “There are so many different sub genres, and fads come and go really quickly. We wanted to really make sure that it has this nebulous, genre-less vibe to it.”
The debut single “Heart Attack” certainly had enough fervor to expect big things from Oliver in the future. According to Billboard, the duo “pressed pause on the outside world” in order to focus on their inner artistry. “We’re constantly trying to push the boundaries of music production while trying to maintain the soul and spirit of the music we both grew up on from the past,” the duo said in a joint statement.
One thing is certain, there’s nothing but excitement from our end about this project. The duo’s debut album will be released on Interscope Records on August 25th, 2017. Catch the duo’s tour dates below.
