This fresh new track from LA-based Producer/DJ Bret Loehr, otherwise known as One T, is an elegant adventure for your ears and maybe for your eyes, but your eyes have to be closed. Go on, do it! Just kidding, keep reading. Beginning with a funky guitar lick and a steady electronic beat behind some powerful piano chords, the song immediately grabs your attention. Not only do the sounds mix so well together, they almost feel like they’re meant to be used together. The mixture of real instrumentation and electronic elements isn’t anything new, but there does seem to be something different about the way One T has combined harder drum beats, synth growls, and vocal samples throughout the song, which are all just placed in the right place, that give the song a funky dance element. It’s just not Dance in the EDM or Disco sense of the word. It’s better. The direction that One T is taking his music is one of futuristic and outside-the-box thinking. I’ve seen more and more tracks like this popping up where classic genres are tossed together like a salad and the dressing on top are modern electronic beats, samples, and synths. Clearly I’m hungry, but it’s not just for salad, it’s for more music like this! I would guess we’re going to start to see a lot more music like this in the coming months.
