In the midst of a truly dreary season in terms of lineup diversity, I’ve been anxiously awaiting my favorite festival’s announcement.
Although I didn’t know what to expect from the Lightning In A Bottle lineup this year, my expectations were high. DoLab does not disappoint. This year’s annual romp in the dust will feature some seriously high caliber acts: Anderson Paak and The Free Nationals top this year’s bill with their energetic live show- and with TokiMonsta‘s return to Lake San Antonio, I’m smelling a hopeful collaboration (Put It Down, PLEASE).
This year’s lineup feels more live than ever.
With acts such as maestro of funktronica Griz shredding the sax and Sofi Tukker’s globally inspired guitar-laced house to look forward to, lovers of electro beats and live instrumentation are sure to reach simultaneous levels of bliss once thought inconceivable.
The ethereal weirdness encapsulated by the Lightning In A Bottle experience will be beautifully accentuated with performances by acts like Beats Antique, Clozee, and Tipper.
The Glitch Mob will perform its first of only a handful of dates this summer- and Fever Ray, 1/2 of Swedish outfit The Knife, has no other US festival dates announced for her first tour in seven years.
Lightning In A Bottle’s 2018 lineup, for lack of a better term…
…is a big deal!
It is, however, just a small part of an experience that nearly transcends the importance of the lineup. Besides it’s incredible curation of musical acts, the festival boasts industry leading stage design, eye opening workshops, classes and lectures, world class art installations and much more, for a truly unmatched immersive experience.
“ Beyond the music, we have always searched for innovation within what you expect to find at a music festival. From art to workshops, to yoga and meditation, to the 5k race and the Soap Box derby, we are committed to showing you something outrageous and awe inspiring at every step of the way. This year is no exception as we have some big announcements coming up around the speakers and workshops in the Compass and Learning Kitchen, as well as a groundbreaking collaborative art project spanning the entire festival grounds.” – Jesse ‘Y2’ Shannon – Do LaB Marketing Director
