It seems as though they’ve only just released Volume 1, but dubstep label Never Say Die are set to release Vol.3 of their prolific “Black Label” series on 6th October. As one of the most respected imprints in the scene, they have certainly broadened their roster and musical boundaries over the past couple of years in particular – bringing in tastes of brostep, trap, electro and even big room to their huge fan base. This doesn’t always go down well mind, and it’s not unreasonable for their loyal listeners to want to retain a more classic sound.

That’s precisely where the “Black Label” series comes into play. With a new EP released every couple of months, these tracks are hard-hitting pieces of bass that preserve an essence of where the scene emerged from. In just three editions, featured artists have included Trolley Snatcha, Trampa, Mantis, Megalodon and BAR9. On Monday, a further set of four tracks will be released, this time from Trampa (who has been included on both previous EPs), Dubloadz & London Nebel, The Frim and Twine. Perhaps this one lacks a little bit of depth in comparison to the others but Dubloadz & London Nebel’s “Battle Mode” highlights military style drum rolls and Trampa’s “Jam Rock” is in typically sinister tone.

Classic dubstep should be celebrated, and Never Say Die do a great job of ensuring that. If it gets you pulling nasty faces, it’s bound to be a success. Remember to grab a copy on Monday if you dig this.
