The infamous deadmau5 recently teased his fans with a short 3-minute and 22 seconds of a lullaby titled “Suite 02.”  It begins almost ghostly with what sounds like a harp and piano in this melody. It slowly picks up – and by slow I really mean slow – with the synthesizer chiming in 3/4 of the way through. Just when the track starts to pick up tempo, building momentum and preparing for what could be a sick drop, it abruptly ends leaving the listener wanting more of this progressive track.

The sound is very relaxing and peaceful, surprisingly different than what one would expect from deadmau5. It’s an easy listen, but truly a tease. Because it’s a slower track, when it ends you want more, but it didn’t hype me up enough to really feel like I NEED more. I can let my imagination finish the song, but I trust deadmau5’s imagination can do far better than I. There is an eery resemblance to the sounds of Minecraft and Portal that will pump up the true gaming nerds, some of whom worship deadmau5, to hear the final version… that is, if there is a final version. Give it a listen for yourself and tell me if you were itching to hear more.
