Let’s face it, radio pop stars have become pretty vanilla. The music they make, at least to the trained ear, is usually pretty lackluster and tends to mash the most popular genres at the time together to make a top 40 hit. If you’re an avid music follower online, chances are you’ve made the discovery that the best talent is unearthed via sites like Soundcloud. Here, artists can experiment and unveil new projects which allow them to sometimes come up with something that makes them a huge success. Other times it’s producers playing around with other people’s music – and sometimes it comes out better than the original.

Here’s a great example of an overrated pop star getting the smooth remix treatment from up and coming San Diego producer ESTA.. Tackling Ciara‘s new single “Body Party,” (which sounds like it came from my high school prom dance circa 2002) ESTA. transforms the single into a piece of seductive, electro R&B. Dropping in some keys for sensuality and adding a more rounded out percussion and bass sound, ESTA. makes sure this song will get you laid should the need arise.
