As electronic music continues to blend the line between genres, more and more will we find music that captures our tastes in more than one way. I first started seeing it way back in 2009, with Miike Snow’s breakthrough remix of Vampire Weekend’s “The Kids Don’t Stand A Chance”. Since that time there have been dozens (do I dare say hundreds) of producers and DJs who have injected the ‘indie’ genre with elements of electronic, house, trap, bass and a myriad of sounds in between.

Today we’re featuring another one of those artists in the Miami producer Artec, who has taken Passion Pit‘s 2009 single, “Moth’s Wings”, and given it a summery, indie-house vibe. What’s surprising here is that Artec manages to keep all of the original instrumentation of the original while adding in his own sounds, and not muddy up the waters so much that the remix becomes unbearably thick. Instead, it’s light and airy, with enough bounce to make it unique while still keeping Passion Pit’s sunny atmosphere intact. Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments!
