Exciting news for techno lovers out there who simply can’t swing multiple Euro-trips in a year (because Ibiza): AWAKENINGS, one of the world’s most beloved techno event brands, has announced its United States debut. Their legacy began in 1987 in Amsterdam at the iconic Gashouder venue and has since catapulted into legendary status, throwing multi-day festivals across Europe and beyond. The brand’s strict “techno only” artist booking policy and its committment to using stellar production to amplify the musical experience has solidified its place in dance music’s hall of fame. Now, it will hold its inaugural United States event in the most iconic city in the country–New York. AWAKENINGS will hit Manhattan at the Hammerstein Ballroom on the most romantic day of the year (cough, bae…), February 14th, for a stand-alone night of techno magic.

AWAKENINGS New York City will feature Adam Beyer b2b Ida Engberg, Julia Govor b2b Kamran Sadeghi, Pan Pot and more carefully selected techno artists. Adam Beyer’s Drumcode label has grown to be one of the most reputable in dance music, having celebrated its 20th anniversary this year. Anyone who has experienced his back to back sets with gorgeous partner Ida Engberg can speak to their tangible electricity together. The Hammerstein Ballroom was a very deliberate choice, as it boasts some of the most world-class production capacity in the country. Congruent with European tradition–and certainly nothing new to ravers–the party will go through the twilight hours until 6 am. Says founder Rocco Vennboer, “we needed to find a venue that could fit a custom production set-up, and with everything that has been happening in NYC lately, go all night, without the threat of a shut down,” he added, “I don’t think Manhattan will have ever seen anything like AWAKENINGS.”
