Watch out, Ibiza and BPM Festival–there’s a new contender in town for the hottest underground dance music destination.  While the mass majority of EDM fans will be flocking to Miami for Ultra and WMC in March, more adventurous partygoers should be headed to a more clandestine location.  SXM Festival will return for its second year to the picturesque shores of  Saint Martin from March 15th-19th, 2017, bringing with it a well-respected underground lineup and a new wave of forward-thinking, exotic party settings.

Previously I have known Saint Martin as the place where my parents went on their honeymoon and potentially conceived me, but the island so revered for its romantic ambiance is also an extremely underutilized venue for a music festival.  Expect SXM to deliver the gorgeous scenery of better known party hotspots without the overcrowding and stale vibes–and for us music snobs, the lineup won’t disappoint either.  The first installment of SXM boasted the likes of Maceo Plex, Guy Gerber, Thugfucker, M.A.N.D.Y, BLOND:ISH, Apollonia, Bedouin, and and many more.
