I’ve posted about the groundbreaking documentary, RE:GENERATION, over the past couple weeks and am stoked for it’s release date during the Grammy’s this year. Exciting news came from the project yesterday when the Pretty Lights, The Crystal Method, and DJ Premier’s songs were all let loose online. Skrillex had already built some hype around the project when he released his dub-rock collaboration with The Doors, entitled “Break’n a Sweat.” I was most interested to see how Pretty Lights was going to handle the country genre in his sound. I think “Wayfaring Stranger” was something he had a little trouble with, but the end result actually has me bobbing my head to the electro-tinged country (Or country-tinged electro, however you want to look at it). Each collaboration definitely has a unique sound to it, so I encourage you to listen through each one closely and enjoy the mix of genres. Now that we have 4/5 of the producers’ tracks from the documentary, I’m excited to see what Mark Ronson has come up with. Check them out below and enjoy.
