“You are fantastically talented.” Those were the words of legendary music aficionado Jay-Z after seeing Laura Warshauer perform a couple months prior.

Born and raised in Red Bank, N. J., Laura is currently residing in Los Angeles. She’s been steadily on the rise over the last couple years and 2012 looks like it’s going to be big with an album release in the works and a tour with Bob Schneider. Already having won the first ever Buddy Holly Award in 2010, her songs have now appeared on TV and radio shows all over the country. Laura recently completed new material with Marshall Altman, Bleu, and she is currently in the studio working with PJ Bianco. “That Game” is one of Laura’s more recent tracks. Fantastic vocals and a catchy hook drive over synths and guitar in a song that talks about a young woman trying to make it in the world. Take a listen below.

Laura will be performing at Lollapalooza in Grant Park, Chicago this year. So if you like what you hear, make sure to check out her performance on Saturday at 12 noon on the BMI stage. For a bit more, watch the video of Laura performing “Heaven Above” with pianist Ned Cameron (Kid Ink, Tyga, Chris Brown, Soulja Boy, Lil Wayne, E40) below. And keep an eye out for Laura’s forthcoming album, Wicked, Wicked.
