[ROCK] Balance & Composure’s Work of Art: “The Light We Made”
There are so many genres of music that pull my attention in numerous ways – that being said it is hard to keep up with all the new music being pumped out. I was listening to one of my favorite bands from high school, Balance & Composure, and began to wonder why the hell their sounds faded from my ears and I began to plunge back into their music. That’s when I discovered their newest album, “The Light We Made,” and it stole my heart immediately. This entire album is truly mesmerizing and has gotten me addicted since it fluttered into my ears back mid-February; it reminds me faintly of Turnover’s latest album, “Peripheral Vision” (which I’m also addicted to).
This album is too good not to listen to.
It is so hard to pick a favorite song on this album because every song is so damn good. However I have managed to narrow it down to four of my favorites: Midnight Zone, Afterparty, Postcard, and Loam. Balance & Composure created an official music video for their track Postcard and it is one of the trippiest music videos I’ve ever seen. It features the band members laying around and sinking into furniture and other objects in the house. Honestly it looks like they just ate some acid and filmed what they saw – see for yourself below and please take my advice and check this album out.
