There’s a lot to be said for someone who has gained worldwide recognition before they can legally have a drink (in the US, at least). But then 20-year old French native Madeon isn’t your normal producer. Having exploded onto the EDM scene a few years back with hits like “Icarus”, “Finale”, and “The City”, Madeon continues to impress as he gears up to release his debut album, Adventure, via Columbia Records. Featuring vocals from UK soulster Kyan, “You’re On” is the bouncy first single off the album and already we have a complete remix package that continues to emanate the positive vibes the French producer has laid down. With a laid back, soulful groove, Gramatik shines on his take of the single, saturating the beat with lazy days and throwback vibes. The addition of a funky, rolling bassline solidifies the track into a perfect summer sunset, slowly drifting across the horizon line of my mind. I think I’ll linger on this view for a while.
