I’m still playing catch up from the holiday season with all the great music that was released. There’s no way one person can cover it all, but I’ll try. With that said, here’s a holiday gift from Swedish pop beauty Lykke Li in the form of The Lost Session Vol. 1. Featured are alternate takes from Wounded Rhymes, including “I Follow Rivers,” “Jerome,” and “Youth Knows No Pain.” There isn’t much in instrumentation here, mainly just the acoustic and a little piano and bells, which really puts Lykke’s voice front and center, showing off her rich, soulful vocals. I really dig the alternate take of “Jerome” which you can check out below, along with the other two tracks.
