Watch out, Insomniac and HARDfest.  Southern California has a new festival contender this spring: CRSSD – a unique, forward thinking, 21+ electronic music festival experience taking place at San Diego’s Waterfront Park on March 14th and 15th.

CRSSD is the result of a collaboration between  Goldenvoice, the company that puts on the legendary Coachella music festival, and FNGRS CRSSD, a  promotions company that holds weekly events at the popular club Bang Bang in San Diego.  These guys know their stuff– I find myself pulling on my Chucks and dancing at Bang Bang almost every weekend to awesome deep/tech house by a FNGRS CRSSD DJ, and no one can argue with the legendary production of  Goldenvoice.  Personally, I can’t wait.

Taking its cue from festivals like Sonar and BPM, CRSSD is defined by forward thinking electronic artists, combining live and DJ performances.   Martin Garrix fans, be warned; you won’t find any commercial DJs here.  The lineup boasts legendary underground headliners like Maceo Plex, Seth Troxler, and Pete Tong, class A live performances from Empire of the Sun and Chromeo, as well as a roster full of up-and-coming stars.  The festival will take place on the bay at San Diego’s Waterfront Park,providing a beautiful backdrop of both the city skyline and the ocean’s natural beauty.

In addition, CRSSD will offer a full selection of craft beer, a mixology program and local food vendors from the San Diego area.
