What does revolution mean to you? As I sit here thinking about it, I realize that it has many different meanings for me – from the naivety of Dance Dance Revolution to the far more bloody coups in the Ukraine and that of Arab Spring, we are living in a time of great revolutions. It’s happening in government and it’s happening online, from grassroots movements to sweeping regulatory changes, it’s affecting every one of us on some scale, even if we aren’t aware of it. Even the music industry is going through massive transformations – from the transition to digital sales and the booming EDM industry, things are moving faster than anyone can keep up with.

Chicago dance duo Kings Of Class bring this concept full circle with their new, hard hitting electro track aptly titled “Revolution”, which we are happy to premiere on The Sights and Sounds. With a booming bassline and chaotic, stabbing synth work, Kings Of Class create a musical podium upon which Malcolm X’s voice takes front and center – a voice that has become almost synonymous with revolution and the tides of change – resonating his message over a turbulent backdrop. And while “Revolution” may not become the flagship mix for any bloody rebellions in the near future, throw this track on your loud speaker tonight and you might just create a bit of an uprising yourself.
