Hot off the press is a Swedish summertime sensation. Delivering a glorious slice of hand waving, laser reaching, friend embracing piece of progressive house anthemia, John Dahlback combines his talents with that of fellow Swedes Rebecca & Fiona on his new single, “Honors”. Released through Ultra, this is a bonafide fist pumper of a track, with melodic lead synths and an uplifting feel – all components of Dahlback’s progressive sound.
Whilst Dahlback is at home creating gnarly bass lines that are ideal for slightly darker tracks, “Honors” is proof that he can balance euphoric melodies and rumbling rhythms in equal balance. The rising talents of Rebecca & Fiona – whose debut album a while back is still causing some serious dancefloor damage – add their floaty, almost ethereal vocals to the proceedings. They assist in adding a warm dimension to the intro and in building up anticipation before Dahlback’s body shaking, punchy drop.
This one is undoubtedly perfect for the rest of summer, but it also has a feeling of longevity. I for one would love to see this collaboration again in the future. You can pick up your copy of “Honors” here.
