One of our favorite bands here at The Sights and Sounds, the ever prolific and awesome Work Drugs, is holding a remix contest for their tropicalia-pop single “West Coast Slide”. This track is one of the many highlights on the band’s new album Mavericks (as well as Young Lungs and “Sunset On High Street”). We know a few of you budding musicians out there are fans as well.
So if you’re a [remix] artist (and you meet the eligibility criteria below), follow this link to find their stems and check out the original single/contest rules below.
Remix Contest Details:
The grand prize winner receives their remix included on an official Work Drugs release, a prize pack containing a Work Drugs tshirt, a signed copy of DELTA, a copy of MAVERICKS on CD, a hand written lyrics sheet from the West Coast Slide sessions, and a set list signed by members of the band. One runner up will receive a signed copy of DELTA on vinyl and MAVERICKS on CD.
Completed remixes must be uploaded to SoundCloud privately as a 320Kbps MP3 and send private link to workdrugs@gmail.com with the subject line: West Coast Remix.
Open to musicians who are aged 13 or older who are not presently signed under any exclusive contract agreements. By entering the contest, entrants irrevocably grant sponsor to use the work and copyrights therein, in any way and in any and all media.
All remixes due by August 12, 2013.
