[THE DAILY SWIM] Koloto - "Antares"

Welcome to The Daily Swim, a new feature on The Sights and Sounds to bring you as much new music as we can. As a daily swimmer, water has always served as a dichotomy to my psyche – wholly and unswervingly calming in it’s vast simplicity yet at the same time able to harness and create massive amounts of energy. Which is exactly the type of music The Daily Swim will feature – no fuss posts with tracks from great producers that serve as both calming and energizing to get you through the deep end of your day.

Dynamic xylophone harmonies and glitched out percussive elements dominate today’s Daily Swim in UK beatmaker Koloto‘s fluid track “Antares.” The drum glitches in the track are spot on and Koloto’s ability to manipulate those sounds brings a very unique production that I haven’t heard elsewhere. The track reminds me of a soundtrack to an old Donkey Kong cave system, full of slippery creatures and watery dangers around every turn, yet majestic in it’s beauty. Perhaps if the classic game got a modern update, this would find it’s way in.
