Roberto Concina, better known as Robert Miles, passed away at the age of 47 on May 9, 2017 after a short illness.

While Miles was best known for his track “Children”, released in 1997, he continued to produce music until his fifth studio release in 2011.

Many artists commented on their social media accounts about the loss. Fans remember him.  Chicane wrote, “I only played ‘Children’ 2 weeks ago on Sun:sets…. I wished I had written it.”

Fans remember his influence on their evolution into trance.

“‘Children’ track was an introduction to trance.. epic track”

“His tracks were the start of uplifting as well know it. He took the higher energy epic trance of the time and simplified it, distilling it down to melody and emotion.”

“First he asked me about my age, then followed up with: ‘How’d you get in here, Kid?’ And I’m still starry eyed.”

Robert, you will be missed.
