This year’s expansive festival taking place September 7-10 is similar to the format of Austin, Texas’ SXSW in that it will take place across venues in the city of Raleigh. Presently confirmed locations include Raleigh’s Red Hat Amphitheater, as well as the Raleigh Convention Center’s Exhibition Hall (‘The Basement’), and participating venues to be announced later on.
Hopscotch is working to showcase its commitment to showcasing North Carolina bands alongside notable artists from around the world at the festival and is successful in doing so as approximately 30% of the festival’s performers will hail from in-state, while others will travel from all across the world to play.
Solange, Run the Jewels, Big Boi, Future Islands, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Afghan Whigs, Angel Olsen, Cass McCombs, Cloud Nothings, Mount Eerie, The Make-Up, METZ, Thee Oh Sees, Protomartyr, Torche, Pallbearer, Kevin Morby, Noname, Mary Timony playing music from Helium, Busdriver, Preoccupations, Margo Price, Mount Moriah, Sunflower Bean, Cherry Glazerr, and Ne-Hi, among others are notable acts on this year’s bill.
