Well this is something I didn’t expect at all. Usually I like to post some more upbeat tracks on Fridays so that your weekend can be as full of loud noises as possible. With that said, I was pretty excited to see “Leaving,” a new track Skrillex posted on his SoundCloud today. Now before you go and turn your speakers up to 11, let me warn you in advance that this is not the Skrilly we’ve come to love (and love making fun of).

“Leaving” sees the American producer abandoning the all-to-familiar bro-step arena for something more along the lines of Disclosure and the ‘future garage’ genre. Not sure what this means for the future of Skrillex, if this is just some experimental outlet or part of a larger musical evolution for him, but I’m still on the fence with the track.
