I just stumbled onto this band today, and after hearing the first minute of “Hungry Hearts,” I want more, more, more. Los Angeles based electro-pop male-female duo DWNTWN premiered their first official music video a couple days ago, and the slow motion singing that takes the viewer through various locales in LA has put me in a nostalgic west coast mood, most definitely (I’m originally from LA, if it’s not obvious). Consisting of Jamie Leffler and Robert Cepeda, when asked about their sound Jamie responds, “I definitely think it is. We listen to a lot of varied styles from The Carter Family and Woody Guthrie to New Order and Crystal Castles, as well as everything in between. We take a lot of different influences.” (You can read the full interview at ArtistDirect.com.) I also found this amazing remix of “The Good Life” by One Republic that was remixed by these guys.
