“I’ll run into the setting sun”

SIR SLY have released a new video for their second single “&Run,” from the group’s sophomore album Don’t You Worry, Honey which is out now. The band is fronted by vocalist Landon Jacobs with instrumentalists Jason Suwito and Hayden Coplen accompanying him. The trio methodically built a steady following and waited for the opportune time to reveal their real identities. Such a peculiar M.O. has led them towards chasing the bizarre throughout their career.

The song’s infectious pop hook plays off of its deep house influenced synths: it’s ear candy for listeners. SIR SLY manages to create something catchy, something one can sing along to, without forsaking their more latent artistic goals: “Happy, but a little lost. Well, I don’t know what I don’t know, so I’ll kick my shoes off and run” sings frontman Landon Jacobs, the group echoes melancholy but their melodies scream something high energy. It’s a unique overlay of energy over lyrics that are tinged with human sadness.

As for the video the group utilizes a modern aesthetic near its beginning in order to capture the day in the life of three bandmates. The bright atmosphere characterizes a hot fall day in Los Angeles. “We wanted to write and center this music video around the concept of a fantastical day in the life of 3 bandmates,” Sir Sly said in a statement to Earmilk, “complete with choreographed movements, kitschy transportation methods, airline gear debacles, matching pajamas & outfits.”
