I personally am a huge dillon francis fan and feel a bit of childish joy whenever he puts out a new track. He has really made a name for himself on the scene and has been spotted at every big festival this summer. Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs joined the synergy of Francis to collab on “Without You” and it genuinely showcases the true sounds of house music and demonstrates why the genre has blown up in the past few years. “Without You” has a different feel than most Francis songs which are usually on the happier/party side, and he stated on his sound cloud “This song is very meaningful to me because as TEED and I were working on the song I was having relationship problems of my own. He ended up writing the song about the whole situation I was going through.”
Utilizing the melodramatic vocals of Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs supported by the escalating tempo, beats and catchy energy “Without You” exemplifies the difference in mentality Francis on this track. “I’ll be higher without you now, keeping up a life somehow. Ooo, you’ll be lighter without me now, feeling alright somehow” are the lyrics that loop organically throughout the track and pull at your heartstrings while brought to life with the electronic companion that Francis is talented at. Every drop ends with a finger snap, which I am absolutely obsessed with. I have a thing for snapping apparently and couldn’t wait for the next release. Listen for yourself, and let me know if you found yourself secretly snapping along.
