I always get a refreshing feeling whenever I discover good new music. It’s especially gratifying when that music is great. That’s the case with Los Angeles electro-soul duo Asa Taccone and Matthew Compton, better known as Electric Guest. Their music is super catchy, upbeat, and original; most likely due to the fact that Danger Mouse has already jumped on board to produce their upcoming album, Mondo, due out April 24 via Downtown Records.

With a set list that ranges from indie blues to electro soul, it’s hard to put your finger on exactly where their inspiration comes from or where they will take their sound next. But one thing is for sure: Electric Guest will will be a group to look out for in 2012.
