[INTERVIEW] Louis The Child ft. K.Flay – “It’s Strange” + Splash House Interview
“I could be faded with somebody new
Rather be sober at home just us two”
Time to let go. It’s strange, sitting here I can recall all the little moments with you, walking through the dust I thought I had a clarity I hadn’t felt in a long time. Isn’t it strange how you can question yourself with foresight? The memory seems almost funny now, but I can only frame my experiences with the taint of how I see things currently. But shrugging off the journey doesn’t get me anywhere. What was it for? What was the lesson? Who am I now because of it? Every moment has brought me to exactly where I am supposed to be. But why?
Every second that you spend on doubting your worth, every moment that you use to criticize yourself; is a second of your life wasted, is a moment of your life thrown away. It’s not like you have forever, so don’t waste any of your seconds, don’t throw even one of your moments away.” -C. JoyBell C.
“Maybe I just knew I had to wait for you.” Or maybe I’m still waiting, I’m not quite sure yet. When you’re in the moment it’s always tough to tell. Life always seems to give the test first and then the lesson. What a bitch. I’ve tried to stay a step ahead, but it always finds a way to slow me the fuck down again – in the best of ways. Take time to appreciate the people in your life, your surroundings, what you actually feel. It’s practice for me, every day, and I’m not used to operating by these rules. Is this my take away?
“I make my rules and my own plans.”
It’s strange to be guided, then, by the rules of instinct upon which I had no input. I’ve made the difficult choices in my life so as to dictate my own story, so why do you have so much say over my feels? After all, the whole thing lasted a fraction of a second on this tiny side of the cosmos. “Opened me up, I let down my defense,” and fuck that doesn’t happen very often. Maybe that’s why it’s so damn difficult.

We had a chance to sit down with Freddy and Robby at Splash House while working on a project for Solé Bicycles and their recent Fixtape. Amidst the heat, bikinis, beats, and pools, the boys chat about bicycle music and work ethic – an unlikely combo that is bringing them huge success. Check out the video and stream the mix below:
