Enter into the microorganism of sound that spans dimensions and transports listeners into an orbit of sonic exploration. Monolink announces his debut album, Amniotic, due April 20th via Embassy One.
Monolink, or Steffen Linck, is a multi-instrumentalist and recently proclaimed vocalist for his debut album Amniotic. Hailing from Berlin, Linck weaves his hometown underground culture into American electronica pop to create awe-inspiring live music that cleanses the soul. Through the art of storytelling, Monolink narrates by way of soothing guitar tones, stirring synths, and, for the first time, his own pacifying vocals.
I must emphasize that this is an album quite purposefully, and is Monolink’s first complete body of work. Following the release of his newest single, ‘Sirens‘, Steffen opens up a portal to the world of yearning that is created with Amniotic. In Monolink’s own words:
“EPs are popular with most producers and DJs in the electronic music scene. But I come from a band background and albums are unmatchable for me. I’m a huge fan of listening to large bodies of work from start to finish and taking a plunge into the world the artist has created. Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” is an example of an album that still fascinates me to this day.
Generally I wanted “Amniotic” to have a tremendous tangible connection to life and nature, especially the lyrics. When you play gigs all over the world, your life takes place at airports, in cars or hotel rooms. I have noticed more and more often how I enjoy getting away from society, out of the cities and into nature; and that’s very much reflected in this album.”
Upon release of the record, Monolink will be taking on a 3-month live tour, spanning across the US, Europe, and UK where all aspects of his live performance will be displayed in the moving production.
