If you’re an avid festival-goer like me, chances are you have noticed an increased trend in camping festivals over the last year, especially on the west coast.  Suddenly camping festivals have become more common than non-camping festivals, undoubtedly because camping provides a feeling of unity among festival goers and also eliminates a large amount of logistical hassle for everyone involved.  There’s the “transformational festival” crew such as Lightning in a Bottle and Symbiosis  Gathering, which tend to feature yoga and healing sessions and inspirational speakers, while others such as Coachella and Nocturnal simply want people to have somewhere close to the venue to crash after a long day of music.

Leave it to the DIRTYBIRD crew to take an entirely new but decidedly traditional approach to their inaugural Campout event at Oak Canyon Park from October 2-4.  The gang will be throwing it back to your childhood days with a list of camp activities like archery, dodge ball, and a water balloon toss.  Whether you are hamming it up at the talent show with Claude VonStroke, sack racing with Justin Martin, or learning archery with J.Phlip, there will be no shortage of around the clock entertainment for every loyal camper looking to earn an official merit badge.

To really boost the bonding factor with your fellow campers, festival goers will be randomly divided into four different color teams for a bit of friendly competition.  DIRTYBIRD will also bring its notorious BBQ series to Campout for the most outrageous grill off to date.

Route 94 will also be joining the DIRTYBIRD friends & family for the weekend lineup.
