“An Ethereal Journey Through Space and Musical Lust”

Slow Magic is back with his first single since the debut of 2014’s How to Run Away. The track, which features Sweden’s Kate Boy, is the first time Slow Magic has used backing vocals in one of his songs. Pairing Boy’s poignant soprano with Slow Magic’s ethereal production modus operandi leads us through a fleeting symphony. The track coalesces elements, never dipping too low or soaring too high. Slow Magic’s experimentation with organic musical element adds a human element to the track. Like any meaningful journey, “Mind” injects a sense of wanderlust into our veins.

Slow Magic – “Mind”

Slow Magic’s integration of live percussion samples sets him apart from a plethora of future bass and nü-house producers. It’s his willingness to take a deep dive into each fundamental element that makes him a singular artist. Sonically, “Mind” captures childhood innocence. Organic drum samples, a driving beat, and pitched up vocal samples: a true festival anthem. The song is an ethereal journey through space and musical lust. With a new album in sight, Slow Magic is proving to rise to the test.

The genesis for “Mind” began when Slow Magic and Kate Boy met a couple of years ago at a German festival that took place in an abandoned car factory. Slow Magic recalls, “I remember sneaking through the backstage area and onto the roof to watch their set. I had wanted to work with them ever since I heard their song ‘In Your Eyes.’ I recorded the live drums for ‘Mind’ in Stockholm, Sweden in a studio that metal bands usually record at.”

/Hitting the Road/

Starting next week, Slow Magic will tour in support of “Mind” with RÜFÜS DU SOL before meeting up with ODESZA including a performance at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater. Following that he’ll play a series of special, intimate headline shows throughout the summer in between a couple festival stops. A full list of dates is below.
