[BASS] Rogue – “Atlantic”
Rogue has once again sent his fans spellbound with his newest single ‘Atlantic’. This new record from the Monstercat artist sails through an adventure of pretty synth pads, growling basslines, and a joyful topline. Much like the ocean, ‘Atlantic’ is worth diving deep into.
The track comes from Joel Hunt of Birmingham, England, who was never formally handed musical scripture or taught musical theory– the concept of music came as second nature from a very young age. Playing instruments and singing without being totally aware that we was practicing, Joel came into his own on various instruments pulling inspiration from musical greats such as Muse. It wasn’t until he heard the likes of Skrillex and Nero that the transformation from Joel Hunt into Rogue began.
Perhaps we can assume that the name Rogue refers to Joel’s disregard for pave pathways to dance music succes.
Joel burst onto the scene under the renowned moniker in October 2011, releasing Dubstep remixes and original tracks on his Youtube channel. Now, he sits among some of the most exciting up and coming EDM producers around, well known for his releases on Monstercat and UKF. His track ‘Exogenesis’ reached #1 in the Dubstep category on Beatport and stayed there for over a month. His net release ‘Forever’ also went straight to number 1 in the Electronica charts respectively. Showing no pause, the subsequent EP ‘Earth’ reached the top five dance albums on iTunes in numerous countries on pre-orders alone, then topped the charts again upon release.
He is critically acclaimed for his unique style of blending the impact of modern bass music with the raw emotion that can be captured with enchanting melodies and cinematic orchestral breaks, creating an explosion of musical colour that hits hard.
