Like a bad cold, you can never seem to get rid of me. I’ve remained dormant on the dubstep front for the past few months, but I’m about to erupt in Vesuvius-esque fashion. Leave it to Bassnectar to bring out the best in a slumping writer. I’ve really got to hand it to the man, his elaborate productions are an entirely different species of sound.
Opening with a deceptively delicate introduction, “Into The Sun” wastes little time spiraling into an out-of-control sandstorm full of sweeping synths and booming bass. After staying relatively quiet for the first half of 2015, it has now become painfully obvious where Lorin Ashton has been spending the majority of his time… in the studio. With a 16-track album (also titled Into The Sun) due out on June 30th, this sparkling composition – along with four other bangers – merely serves as a preview of the musical chaos to come. Stay tuned you crazy bassheads, because things are about to get very real, very soon.
