Hit play and imagine cruising through the city in a drop top convertible, you’re no longer in 2013 but transported to some generic time in the 80’s. Perhaps it’s evening, and as the dusk settles over the city you’re still wearing your classic Tom Cruise shades as Oliver‘s throwback synths set the tone for your night.

That’s what I imagined the first time I listened to the duo’s remix of Kris Menace‘s “Waiting For You” featuring Black Hills. Oliver has seemingly found the beating heart inside the dance machine with their extremely diverse and upbeat catalog of singles and remixes. “Waiting For You” is no different as the jumping synths and arpeggios paired with the Daft Punk-esque vocals is another sign of talented musicians going back and looking to the past for great inspiration.
