Munich based, Lisbon born Luis Clara Gomes a.k.a Moullinex has been on my radar ever since his killer remix of College featuring Anorrak’s “Fantasy Park”. Following that up with remixes and productions featuring the likes of Peaches, Sebastian Tellier, Cut Copy, and Two Door Cinema Club., Moullinex has been building steady momentum in support of his forthcoming debut LP “Flora.” Gomes crafts elegant, melody driven dance tracks that are ambitious in structure, and he seems to gracefully straddle the line between continental European french-house/nu-disco, and a spacey Australian-Modular like vibe. Tracks like the single,“Sunflare.” and dance odyssey “Darkest Night” show the huge range of influences. Co-founding an in-house label, Discotexas, Moullinex continues to produce absolutely astounding remixes. Including a remix of Discotexas label mate Kamp’s “Cairo.”
