Sam-Smith-Nirvana EP

Many of you may already be familiar with Sam Smith from his critically acclaimed vocal guest spot on Latch, the breakthrough single from one of 2013’s biggest success stories, Disclosure or from the excellent single La La La by Naughty Boy that is currently storming the US radio airways. The gifted 21 year-old British singer/songwriter isn’t wasting any time basking in the light of some of last year’s most successful international singles, and instead, released his debut Nirvana EP in the US, last week. Highlighted by his second solo single Money On My Mind (which he recently performed live at Taylor Swift’s London tour stop along with the superstar), aside from the title track, the EP also features the Justin Timberlake sound-alike Safe With Me, the funky Nile Rodgers and Disclosure collaboration Together, and a beautiful acoustic version of Latch.

Although, some of the production here may lack in originality Smith’s ability to deliver beautiful and raw emotion through his vocals is undeniable. Get ready to hear more from Sam as he will be releasing his full debut album later this year, which will undoubtedly further raise his profile. Remember the name as Sam Smith is definitely one to watch out for in 2014!
