There’s a new group out of the UK that’s beginning to catch the ears of some very noticeable names with their dark and emotionally charged single “Out Of The Blue.” Hailing from Glasgow (which has given us the likes of Frightened Rabbit, The Twilight Sad, We Were Promised Jetpacks, and CHVRCHES), comes the new three piece group known as Prides. Originally touting the name Midnight Lion, the group has since renamed and caught the attention of fellow Glasgow colleagues CHVRCHES, who gave them a most welcome shout out.

“Out Of The Blue” plays as an insanely catchy synth-pop track that begins with an upbeat riff akin to MGMT‘s “Kids” – a riff that one expects to be punctuated with the soaring vocals of a lot of pop music these days. We get, however, a toned down, emotionally drenched vocal track that plays surreptitiously with the sunny beats in the background.
