British trio London Grammar have been a huge surprise over the last few months, delivering epically surreal singles with their soaring vocals and stripped down, yet powerful instrumentation. As a producer, I imagine it’s a daunting task to take on such a high level of production and try to churn out something better than the original. However, Seattle-based producer Joshua Karp, aka Budo, seems to have found a recipe that pushes London Grammar’s sound into new territory while keeping the raw emotions of the original. Taking on a similarly minimalistic approach to the beginning, Budo’s production slowly grows and builds momentum before taking off on a life of it’s own around the 1:30 mark. This mix comes just days after Budo released his solo album, The Finger & The Moon, so if you like what you hear you can listen and download more here.
