yelle - L'Amour Parfait

“I don’t know what you mean, but it means a lot to me”

The first words ring so true to me as I really don’t know what the song means, ’cause it’s in French, but also because the people we care about often say things we don’t undertand, but still make an impression on us. “L’Amour Parfait”, which translates to The Perfect Love, is the new single from French pop songstress Yelle which carries ambient undertones of lust and love lost.

I suppose I could find the English translation of the track and write about the meaning of the lyrics, but I prefer the soundscape to paint a picture of what I’m supposed to feel. And to me, the low, undulating synths and sinister chords tell a tale of the perfect love lost; the resolved chorus a brief glimpse into their perfect past. How does the single move you? Let us know in the comments below and if you’re digging the sound, pre-order Yelle’s upcoming EP on iTunes here.
