For me, long dance or house music tracks usually require a certain amount of commitment, patience, and attention, more so than typical radio-friendly pop songs. I think it’s worth noting that when a DJ or Producer does their job right, you barely notice the length of the track or mix because you are way more engaged with and taken over by the sonic journey blooming in front of you. For me, that’s what any dance-related music, whether electronic or not, has always been about. I enjoy the payoff and reward of having listened through a long single or an extensive mix in order to get the full scope of who an artist is and what vibe they cater to.

In the case of PUZL Records newcomer, Dan Jedynak, he is definitely raising the hairs on the back of my neck with his lofty 3-track EP titled Motor, that does exactly what I mentioned above. It has both light and dark vibes. It takes you up hills and across desolate, isolated wilderness. “With The Drums” could be the soundtrack to an underground dance party in a hot basement and “Motor” belongs on an intergalactic space station. Dan J. is definitely a solid addition to the LAMP family and we can’t wait to hear more uptempo, drum-infused house tracks. Check it out below!
